When you ask an incoming college freshman what the best degree to get during your four years at a university would be, most answers would be something along the lines of pre-med or engineering; something that never goes out of style and pays well. Although getting solid degree like that is a great career move and you’ll always have work, something, especially millennials, should consider is a career that will have an up and coming demand. Communications and everything that relates is a perfect example. I believe communications is a very smart career move due to the fact that it is very broad and you can manipulate it in numerous ways and it's necessary in every line of work.

Online communication is one of the most powerful tools we have today within the media, and there are many ways we can manipulate college degrees in today's society to cater to up and coming demands. The biggest influence on the younger generation is social media, no doubt. According to the Huffington Post, 75 percent of young adults currently have accounts on social networking sites. Social networking sites have become an extremely dominant aspect in almost every young adult's life, and with a communication degree, you can learn how to successfully communicate messages and ideas through one of the most powerful tools within a business today.
Communication majors are best defined as students seeking to get a general liberal arts degree, further leading into public relations, journalism, marketing and many more different job opportunities. Personally, I find liberal arts degrees important and what you make of them; you put in what you want out of it. Communication, in any form, is an important aspect in any successful business. Whether it be interpersonal communication making a business deal or mass communication to promote a product or company, communication will always be a relevant facet in any line of work.
